Two Ranges
Trek in the world’s highest tropical range in the world, Protected as Huascarán National Park know as Cordillera Blanca, one of the earth’s treasured natural heritages, with over 20 snow-capped peaks rising above 6,000 m/19,680ft and the Huayhuash range its numerous, awe-inspiring peaks and intimidating ice-draped walls, dominated by Peru’s second highest mountain, the colossal Yerupaja (6634 m), both of then provide a rugged, stimulating and unforgettable trekking experience.
Program :
Day 1. Arrival to Lima Airport, Transfer to the Hotel depending of time arrival would be possible continue by bus to Huaraz city, 3090 m (8hrs aprox.)
Day 2. Huaraz rest day, acclimatization.
Day 3. Private bus to Pitec area, for acclimatization trek to Churup lake (4485 m).Hotel
Day 4. From Huaraz by bus to Hualcayan (3280 m), trek to Huishcash, camp
Day 5. Huishcash to Osoruri camp, crossing the Cullicocha pass (4850 m) on the way will see the Cullicocha lake and the Santa Cruz mountain
Day 6. Today will reach the Jancarurish lake through Los Cedros Valley at base of Alpamayo mountain, camp
Day 7. Jancarurish – Huillcapampa crossing one of the most famous passes in the range the “cara cara” .
Day 8. From Huillcapampa upwards until the Yanacon pass (4600 m ) from here we can appreciate Pucahirca mountain, camp
Day 9. Jancapampa to the Tupatupa pass(4400 m). Great views from the Contrahiebas, Chopicalqui and Ulta mountains, Huecrococha camp.
Day 10. Huecrococha to the Pucaraju pass (4650 m). incredible views various mountains as Taulliraju, descending to camp.
Day 11. Quebrada Paria to Huaripampa valley . Transfer by car to Huaraz through the Llanganuco valley, Hotel.
Day 12. Huaraz resting day
Day 13. Huaraz – Pocpa. a five hours bus ride will take us to Pocpa village where will set our camp
Day 14. Pocpa – Jahuacocha. Will start walking uphill until the pocpa pass , camp.
Day 15. Jahuacocha. The path ascends from the South side of the Lake, enter the Huacrish Canyon crossing the Yaucha Pass (4800 m) and
cross a second pass on the side of Diablo mudo mountain, camp at Piqui corral.
Day 16. Piqui corral. Long descent to Huayllapa Town and a gradual uphill path to Cutatambo
Day 17. Cutatambo exploring day , walk to Sarapococha Lake and have splendid views from Jurao, Trapecio, Yerupajá,etc.. .camp
Day 18. Return to Huayllapa town and following the downhill path will reach the Uramaza, camp.
Day 19. Our last day trekking to Cajatambo. Camp
