About us
Marco Antonio Perez Lopez
Is 49 years old and was born and still lives in his native town of Cusco, Peru, probably the most beautiful and most important city of Peru. His mother tongue is Spanish and English is his second language.
Since he was a kid he has been an adventurer looking for new challenges. Outdoor activities and exploring the beautiful natural landscapes inspired him to become a Professional Mountain Guide which his now his way of living. He certainly enjoys his country's cultural wealth, past and present.
Since 1988 as a professional guide he has been leading groups of people to the roof of ( South) America, the Aconcagua (Argentina) Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Cayambe (Ecuador), Illimani, Sajama, Huayna Potosi, Pequeño Alpamayo (Bolivia) . Of course he knows is way around to Huascaran South and North including the North face), Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Chopicalqui, Tocllaraju, Ausangate, Yayamari, Chumpe, among other well known mountains in his home country.
As part of his professional duties he not only guides but organizes Rescue Courses for adventurers, trekkers and climbers and also organizes and leads Rescue operations. He is, in fact, the President of the Mountain Guides Association of the Cusco Region in Peru.
Due to his interest in creating new activities for tourism within his region, he introduced the first Zip line activity in Cusco and Perú and developed trekking circuits and rock climbing areas.
As wel as his tourist activities he has also worked with organizations such as:
-National Geographic - Searching for Inca platforms in snowy mountains
-Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN) : Logistics and setting up a Glaciological station to analyze the receding of the glaciers of the Cordillera Vilcanota in Cusco
-Albatros Media The Albatros Media Foundation creates and distributes high-impact campaigns for the sustainable development of the region's social, environmental and cultural affairs programmes.
In order to expand his experience, he has got involved in different explorations such as:
-Searching for an ancient inca city in the aerea of the Megantoni Sanctuary of Cusco
-Exploring Volcanoes for development of the Geothermical Resources in South Peru
-Looking for ancient Inca bridges foundations with the Qhapaq Chaka proyect
-Explorations with Shell locating oil resources in Salta, Argentina
-Explorations for possible new hydroelectric power plants in the Apurimac River.
