16 days program

During this climbing program you can enjoy the marvels of ice and snow in the middle of the world, the five well know Ecuadorian Mountains: Rucu Pinchincha (4780 m), Illiniza (5263 m), Cotopaxi (5897 m), Tunguragua (5016 m) and the Chimborazo (6310 m).

Program :

Day 1. Arrival Quito

Day 2. Quito city as acclimatization hiking in the city visiting the old part, churches and museums.

Day 3. Trek to climb Rucu Pichincha mountain (4780 m) enjoying spectacular vieuws of Quito

Day 4. Illiniza. An interesting 3 hours trek will take us to the hut at the foot of south Illiniza peak camp.

Day 5. Awake early to climb Illiniza (south route), 4 à 5 hours trekking. Return to the refuge and afterwards trek down meeting our vehicle to drive down to

             the hotel.

Day 6. Drive up to the Cotopaxi National Park, camp in Limpiopungo valley at 3800 m. In the afternoon short trek.

Day 7. After breakfast drive up to the parking place and from hre a short hike will take us to the refuge at 4800 m.

Day 8. Awake early in the morning to reach the summit in 6-7 hours approximately having an impressive view of the crater. Return to 

            the refuge and drive down to Ambato town.

Day 9. Tungurahua. Driving to Banos at the base of the volcano. Free afternoon to visit this charming town.

Day10. Mornig drive to Pondoa and from here trek up to the refuge (4 hours). This path offers plenty of beautiful views of the surrounding valleys. Camp.

Day11. Early ascent to the crater and from here we follow the snowy ridge up to the top. Return to the camp and later to Pondoa. Hotel in Banos.

Day12. Chimborazo. After lunch drive towards the south slopes of Chimborazo with our Camp at 4000 m.

Day13. Drive up to the first refuge of Chimborazo. A short trek will take us to the E.Whymper refuge at 5000 m. Relaxing afternoon.

Day14. Awake at midnight. Climb following the ridge on the left side of the Thyelman glacier. We expect to arrive to the summit after 7-8 hours. 

             Return to the refuge and meet our vehicle which will take us to Ambato Town.

Day15. After a leisure morning we return to Quito, on the way visiting the Saquisili Indian Community, where we can acquire beautiful tapestry. In the evening

             a farewell dinner.

Day16. Transfer to the airport.
