Ecuador Cotopaxi The Giant of Fire
Leaving Quito, south by the Panamericana ( the highway) arriving to the kilometer 75 is the origin of the Cotopaxi channel from here to the end of the way is 30 kilometers else to the Jose Rivas refuge.
On this trayect you can see a variety of wild animals and exotic birds, thanks to the Agriculture Ministery labour all the wilderness has been re-populated with flocks of Flemish and Forest of Pines, thanks to the sector was Declarated National Park. The Jose Rivas refuge was built on 4800 m.a.s.l. on the north face, has enough water and offers all kind of accommodations with capacity for 100 persons.
